The team at Specsavers in Cambridge – Lion Yard Centre - have completed additional training to provide a greater level of care to customers living with glaucoma.

Staff members from the store have taken a course developed in conjunction with the International Glaucoma Association, which has helped develop their skills in assisting customers suffering with glaucoma.

The news comes as Specsavers stores across the UK showed their support for World Glaucoma Week (11-18 March), an initiative designed to raise awareness of the condition that is thought to affect around 700,000 people in the UK.

Kam Dhillon, store director at Specsavers Cambridge – Lion Yard Centre - said: ‘Glaucoma is not a condition to be taken lightly but it can controlled with early detection. The extra training we have received will help us to monitor and care for customers living with glaucoma.’
