Two opticians from Specsavers Camberley have got on their bike for charity to raise vital funds for vulnerable children, medical research and people with Down’s Syndrome.
Capital to Coast
Lateef Iqbal, Store Director at Specsavers in Camberley and Farnham completed this year’s Capital to Coast charity bike ride along with Store Manager Darren Fagg.
60 mile pedal
The amateur cyclists took on the 60 mile pedal that began at the London Eye and ended at Kempston Park, Brighton, supporting charitable causes such as The Down’s Syndrome Association, Norwood, and Action Medical Research. The Capital to Coast bike ride is now in its 18th year and has established itself as the alternative London to Brighton bike ride. In 2013 over 2,000 riders completed the challenge and helped to raise over £250,000 for charity.
Money donated from eye tests
Store director Lateef Iqbal says: ‘The Capital to Coast bike ride was a great way to raise money for a number of fantastic charities. We donated money from every eye test and fundraised for a week.
‘We would like to thank the local people of Camberley for their generosity and for supporting myself and Darren’s marathon cycle. Your donations will support and help people with learning disabilities live full and rewarding lives.’
