The team from Specsavers in Burton-on-Trent turned back time last weekend and raised nearly £350 for the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB).
To celebrate the charity’s 150th anniversary, the store hosted a vintage fundraising weekend in a nod to the sight loss charity’s milestone and National Eye Health Week (24-30 September).
Those visiting the store were greeted with a bake sale and served by staff who had ditched their uniforms to dress up in a host of vintage outfits.
A word from the store director
‘We had a great weekend and the whole team really got behind the cause, which was great to see,’ said store director, Linda Joyce. ‘We were keen to lend our support to the RNIB off the back of National Eye Health Week and thought going vintage was a fun way to do this.
‘We’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who came along to support us and helped us reach a great fundraising total. It was encouraging to see our community come together for a worthwhile cause once again.’
