Two members of staff from Specsavers in Burton-on-Trent have received Customer First awards, which recognise dedication to customer service.
Claire Dalton, dispensing assistant, and Sam Wheeler, dispensing assistant supervisor, were nominated by store director Linda Joyce after the duo went above and beyond the call of duty to help out a customer who needed new specs in time for her holiday.
Claire ensured the specs would be ready in time and called the customer to let her know. Unfortunately, the customer couldn’t make it to the store during the week so decided the best time would be the Saturday evening, thinking the store closed at 5.30pm. She arrived at 5.15pm to find the store had already closed. On the way back to her car, the customer bumped into Claire and advised her of the situation.
Keen to keep the customer happy - Claire took her back to the store where Sam offered to find the specs. The result was that the customer had her glasses for her holiday.
