One of Burnley’s proudest glasses wearers was honoured this week as they took a step closer to winning the coveted Spectacle Wearer of the Year Award, with a grand prize of £10,000 and a luxury holiday in the Bahamas.
Georgia Berry, aged 20 from Burnley was chosen from hundreds of entries from across the North West and North Wales. Known as the Oscars of the glasses world, the awards celebrate specs wearers from the UK and Republic of Ireland, across four age categories: 16-24; 25-39; 40-59 and 60+.
Speaking about her place as a finalist in the 16-24 category, Georgia said: ‘I’m delighted to have been selected as a finalist in my category for the region. I love wearing glasses, they are the ultimate fashion accessory; I have different colours and styles of frames to match all of my outfits.’
