Customers visiting the Specsavers store this Red Nose Day (Friday 24 March) can benefit from a specs cleaning and adjustment service for a donation and could be in with a chance of winning some sweet treats through the store’s ‘guess the number of sweets in the jar’ competition.
Members of staff will also be joining in the fundraising, ditching their usual uniforms for red outfits to encourage extra donations.
Comic Relief supporters in Brownhills can also accessorise their red nose with comedy waving hand glasses.
Priced at just £2 and available in store now, all money raised from sales of the specs will be donated to Comic Relief. The glasses come in both adult and children’s sizes.
Store director Justine Page said: ‘The glasses are fantastic and we’ll be encouraging everyone who buys a pair to also join our giant Mexican wave on social media as well. Simply strike a pose with your glasses and post with the #GiveUsAWave to receive your very own wave back.’
Every penny counts
‘Red Nose Day is an event everyone can get involved with, so I’d like to encourage all of our customers to visit us on Friday,’ Justine added. ‘Every penny we raise will be going to Comic Relief to help change the lives of so many vulnerable people.’
Specsavers in Brownhills has joined Specsavers stores nationwide to support Comic Relief to help poor and vulnerable people living tough lives both here in the UK and across Africa and pledged to raise at least £250,000 for the charity.
Specsavers has been a Comic Relief partner since 2015.
