Specsavers are delighted to announce that its founder Dame Mary Perkins will officially open the new £550k technology-driven store in Broughton Shopping Park.
An extra special launch party
The new hi-tech store will be officially opened by Dame Mary at 10am on Saturday 4 July 2015 as part of a special launch party featuring a day of fun-filled events.
Dame Mary Perkins said: ‘I love attending store openings when I’m able so I’m really looking forward to officially opening the Broughton Shopping Park Specsavers in Deeside and sharing a few words of encouragement. I’m also looking forward to meeting staff and customers as well as enjoying the entertainment the directors have planned.’
To celebrate its launch, the new Broughton Shopping Park store has secured quadruped stilt walkers to perform throughout the day and will also be providing cakes, celebratory glasses of bubbly and balloons to customers – all helping to ensure it’s a launch event to remember.
Local radio station to do a live broadcast from the store
Local radio station Dee 106.3 will also be broadcasting live from the store for the day for this special launch. Its presenters will be playing music and encouraging listeners to come to the store to join in with the fun. Dee 106.3 will also be joined by their life sized mascot, Chester the Cat, who promises to add even more entertainment at the event.
The new store has been completed to a high spec and is a welcome addition to Broughton Shopping Park. Featuring the latest technology, it promises to provide industry leading vision and hearing care to the local area.
Store to bring ndustry leading facilities for the local area
With a total re-fit cost of over £550k, the 1,800sqf store will employ 13 staff and includes 3 eyesight testing rooms, one of which doubles up as a hearing booth for hearing tests.
The new hi-tech store will also feature cutting-edge tablet technology capable of taking customer measurements when dispensing glasses. A ‘magic mirror’ camera will also be available, which enables customers to try on multiple frame styles, ensuring they receive the best and most accurate service possible.
The store will also feature a fully fitted lab, and will be the only opticians in the local area to do so. This means that in most cases, glasses can be made to order at the store on the same day someone has an eye test.
Retail director Scott Rogers commented: ‘Over the last few weeks, Kelly Gibson, the store’s optical director, and I have been pulling all of the stops out to ensure the new store will provide a leading service in both optical and hearing care for the area. We are delighted with the completed work and we can’t wait to show it off.
I’m especially looking forward to bringing even better services to existing Specsavers customers and also welcoming new customers. Those that want to see our new, advanced store should come and join us for the launch on 4 July 2015 – we’ve got plenty of surprises to make them all smile and help ensure their Saturday is extra special.’
A welcome addition to the growing shopping part at Broughton
Charlie Warr, deputy centre manager at Broughton Shopping Park added: ‘The new Specsavers store is a welcome addition to an already prime line-up of popular brands at Broughton Shopping Park, with more new stores set to open in the coming months. As well as a great range of eye care, Specsavers’ hearing centre is a great opportunity for us to offer even more services to the local community.’
Specsavers Optical Group was founded by Dame Mary and her husband in 1984 and the Broughton Shopping Park store is Specsavers’ 701st store.
Those that want to join in the celebrations or meet Dame Mary Perkins should come to the store’s launch party on Saturday 4 July 2015 between 10am – 2pm.
