Generous Bromsgrove customers have contributed £450 to this year’s Guide Dogs ‘Let’s Glow’ campaign to show their support for people living with sight loss.
The team at Bromsgrove Specsavers hosted a Glow Party and dressed in natty neon outfits, while local Guide Dog volunteers visited the store with their canine companions.
The funds were raised by selling home-baked cakes, offering henna and face-painting and giving customers the chance to win prizes provided by local businesses.
Store director, Mark Gibson, said: ‘Specsavers has supported Guide Dogs for many years and we're overwhelmed by the generous support of our customers. A donation of £5 will support a working guide dog partnership for a day, so every pound raised will make a real difference.’
Guide Dogs Week is an annual fundraising and awareness-building campaign. This year, the charity asked people to show their support by wearing neon colours while raising money to support the charity’s ongoing work in communities across the UK.
