The team at Specsavers in Bromsgrove have collected hundreds of pairs of unwanted specs to help raise funds for the for international charity Vision Aid Overseas (VAO).

All the old specs are recyled and sold on to help raise funds for eyecare in developing countries.

Store Director, Mark Gibson said: ‘Through the donation of old glasses, we are helping to provide access to eyecare for people in developing countries. VAO works tirelessly to ensure those needs are met, and customer donations are vital to their success.’

People can continue to drop off their old specs at the collection point in store.

VAO raises money by selling the materials from old glasses. The recycling method is environmentally friendly and enables the charity to fund its overseas projects. For more information visit
