Two loyal Specsavers staff members celebrated their five year milestone anniversary at the Brixton store on Saturday 28 January.
Since joining the team in 2012, Matt Mallone has worked his way up the ranks from working as a meet and greet on the shop floor to becoming both store supervisor and contact lens champion and was then promoted to assistant manager. Matt is now awaiting his exam results, which will see him become a qualified dispensing optician.
Sherren Legister has also played an influential role in the progress of the store, acting as clinic co-ordinator to ensure the smooth running of all clinics undertaken in Brixton. She has been described as an incredibly strong team player and is also known for her words of wisdom, acting as somewhat of an agony aunt to members of staff.
The pair were each presented with a commemorative Specsavers badge, a certificate of service and a bottle of champagne by Store Director Brian Simpson, and General Manager, Evie Simpson to mark the anniversary.
Brixton store director, Brian Simpson, said: ‘Sherren and Matt have become a massive part of the team and certainly deserve to be rewarded for their commitment and loyalty. On behalf of everyone we’d like to thank them for their incredible contribution and we hope to be celebrating another milestone with them in five years’ time.’
