Specsavers in Brixham has raised nearly £500 for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) after inviting residents to come and indulge their sweet tooth.
Specsavers, located on 47 Fore Street, held a fundraising day to celebrate the work of the charity, which is dedicated to helping thousands of lives at sea every year.
Staff brought out their inner Mary Berry and baking for the occasion, as well as served tea and coffee to encourage donations. Customers also tried their luck at a raffle to ‘Guess The Weight Of The Fruit Basket’ for their chance to win a range of prizes.
Specsavers Brixham store director, Chibuzor Rogers-Uwadi says: ‘Our Brixham bakers are wowed everyone with their cooking skills!
‘The RNLI continues to be at the forefront of our fundraising efforts and we want to continue showing our support for them. The RNLI is a charity close to everyone’s hearts in Brixham and it’s important that we do what we can to help them carry on their fantastic work.’
