In aid of World Cancer Day, Specsavers in Filton held a cake sale and raised more than £50 for children’s cancer charity, CLIC Sargent, their nominated charity partner for 2018.
Teaming up with sister stores in Bradley Stoke and Cribbs Causeway, the trio raised an impressive £800 in total for the charity with separate fundraising events.
A word from the store director
‘It’s so important for our teams to get behind a good cause and throw every effort into fundraising, and by nominating a charity, we can maximise our efforts,’ said store director, Ed Stanleigh. ‘While CLIC Sargent is a national charity, they also have a presence in Bristol so there is a local link too.
‘The charity offers tremendous support to youngsters who have been diagnosed with cancer, as well as their families, during what can be a frightening and challenging time. We hope to raise smiles from our customers as well as lots of money for the charity in 2018.’
