Staff at Specsavers in Clifton will be swapping their specs for running shoes on Saturday 19 March as they show their support for Sport Relief.
For their spec-tacular day of fundraising, the team will have a treadmill in store which they’ll use to run and walk the distance to Bath – equivalent to 15.5 miles. Taking it in turn to complete the distance, they will also be dressing in red as they collect donations for the charity.
‘It’s great that the team wanted to get behind Sport Relief this year and we’re hoping to raise lots of money for this excellent cause,’ said Chris Child, store director. ‘The charity run is also a great opportunity to highlight the link between a healthy lifestyle and healthy vision, while raising money for charity.’
Sport Relief brings people together to get active, raise money and change lives. The money raised is spent by sister charity Comic Relief to tackle the root causes of poverty and social injustice, both in the UK and in some of the world’s poorest countries.
