Two of the team at Specsavers Brighton recently took on a terrifying sponsored zip line challenge for charity.
Maggie Knapp and Carol Beard, who both work at the North Street store, completed the death-defying feat for Blind Veterans UK – and raised an amazing £354.
Supporting blind veterans
It involved zip lining from the top of the Brighton headquarters of the charity, which is a nerve-jangling 120 feet high.
The charity has been based at Ovingdean, near Brighton, for 80 years this year. It supports veterans with sight loss with their fitness and mobility, and helps to give them the skills they need to live an independent life.
A word from the store director
Andrew Wallbank, store director in Brighton, said: ‘We are all really proud of Maggie and Carol for taking on this challenge, and for raising so much money for such a good cause.
‘Blind Veterans UK do some amazing work, and really do make such a difference to the people they support.’
