Students in Brighton are being encouraged to consider a career in optics and optometry by Specsavers in Brighton.
The local store is offering advice to young people about how to get into the industry.
Andrew Wallbank, store director at Specsavers in Brighton, says: ‘We are keen to stress to students the optometry and optics is a rewarding and highly varied field. An optometrist is a healthcare professional who is also involved in the detection and management of eye disease.
'You could work in hospitals where you will see people with complicated eye related problems, get involved in pioneering research, go down the road of teaching or you may want to own your own optometry business. It’s an incredibly challenging and well respected profession, offers a good living with flexibility in terms of working hours and is highly rewarding.’
Any students interested in a career in optometry or optics are advised to come into the store.
