Bridlington Specsavers is holding a fundraiser for Guide Dogs UK on Friday 10 October.
The team in-store will be raising money for the Guide Dogs with the help of some doggy delegates from the charity.
Meet the Guide Dogs
Customers are encouraged to pop in to the store on King Street to meet the Guide Dogs, their owners and some puppies-in-training. In return for their donations, visitors to the store can indulge in a variety of homemade cakes and cookies, courtesy of the Specsavers staff.
Specsavers to sponsor a Guide Dog puppy
There will also be a competition to guess the number of sweets in a jar, and Bridlington Specsavers has pledged to sponsor a Guide Dog puppy for a year in the name of the winner.
About Guide Dogs UK
Guide Dogs UK has transformed the lives of over 30,000 blind and partially sighted people by breeding, training and supporting the dogs that restore their mobility and freedom. The lifetime cost of each Guide Dog is around £50,000, all of which comes from public support.
Mark Kunz, store director, commented: ‘We’re really looking forward to our in-store fundraiser and are calling on our loyal customers to come along and help us raise as much as possible for Guide Dogs UK.
‘Every hour another person in the UK goes blind, and we are really proud to be sponsoring the training of a much-needed puppy that will one day change someone’s life.’
