Specsavers in Bridgend has invested £90,000 on refurbishing and remodeling the store.
Located on Adare Street, the Specsavers store boasts a new pre-screening room where customers can complete their pre-examinations before seeing an optician as well as have retinal photography taken and ocular pressure tested.
New shop layout
As part of the new shop layout, the store now also hosts a separate peripheral field visual room where DVLA sight tests are completed.
In addition to the new dedicated rooms for pre-screening and peripheral field visual testing, the store has been remodelled to increase the number of dispense desks, had a revamp of the contact lens department as well as new fixtures and fittings in all five of its test rooms.

Ann Simpkin, store director of Specsavers in Bridgend, said: ‘We are always striving to ensure that the service we give to our customers is of the highest quality and following our investment we’ll be able to see more patients at a faster rate, making the experience more efficient for everyone.
‘Before the store refit we were already offering pre-screening and peripheral field visual testing at the store, but following customer feedback we recognised the need to make the testing spaces more private and for them to be carried out in quieter areas of the store away from the shop floor.
‘It’s been a busy time for us at the store as we’ve not only refurbished the fixtures and fittings and maximised the testing spaces, we’ve also launched Digital Precision Eyecare - a cutting edge new way of selecting and fitting customers’ glasses, using imaging software on tablet devices. Digital Precision Care ensures everyone receives the very best professional care and advice in frame selection and dispensing for their prescription, vision and lifestyle needs and it’s been great to see how customers have responded to this new technology.
