Children of Brentwood will be safer over the winter nights thanks to donations of high visibility vests by a local opticians.
The Specsavers Brentwood store, located at 22 High Street, has donated the vests in support of Road Safety Week, an initiative by road safety charity Brake, of which Specsavers is a co-sponsor.
The team have been trying to raise awareness of road safety among the children and parents in the local community while highlighting the importance of eyecare in staying safe when using the roads. The eyecare experts have been distributing the vests with all children’s sight tests in store as well as donations to local clubs and societies who have enquired in store.
Specsavers Brentwood store director, Manoj Patel, says: ‘We are really proud to be supporting Road Safety Week again this year. The message for the campaign this year is ‘look out for each other’ and we want to make sure that the local community and children in particular are aware of this important message.
‘We hope that by donating these jackets we can remind the children and their parents of the importance of road safety and ensuring they are visible when using the roads, particularly during the dark winter evenings.’
