The Brecon team has raised almost £200 pounds for Alzheimer’s UK by completing a 10k walk.
Thousands of walkers
Members of the team joined thousands of people in Cardiff to take part in a memory walk and raised £194.27 for their efforts through donations from staff, customers and family and friends.
Memory walks have been taking place across the country throughout the last year to raise money for Alzheimer’s UK, a charity promoting awareness about dementia and supporting those affected by it.
The team took on the challenge after optical assistant, Leanne Rees, suggested taking part in memory of her late gran who was affected by the disease.
Leanne Rees says: ‘Alzheimer’s is a terrible disease that sadly affects so many.
‘It was great to see such a significant amount of people gathered together in Cardiff for the same purpose, raising funds that will enable the charity to invest in research and help support those affected by the disease.
'Many of the participants wore t-shirts honouring those they were walking for, with names, images and fond words, which made taking part even more worthwhile.’
