December is here and Christmas Jumper Day 2017 has appeared in Specsavers in Braintree, with the store raising nearly £150.
Staff from the local optician donned their festive knits in exchange for donations to charity Save the Children, along with a charity box for customers wishing to donate.
Supporting incredible work
Paul Wickson, director at Specsavers in Braintree, said: ‘Nothing says Christmas more than a fun and festive jumper.
'What better way to support the incredible work that Save the Children does in providing relief and helping support children in developing countries, than to raise a smile from all our customers.’
Improving the lives of children
The Save the Children Fund, commonly known as Save the Children, is an international non-governmental organization that promotes children's rights, provides relief and helps support children in developing countries.
It was established in the United Kingdom in 1919 in order to improve the lives of children through better education, health care, and economic opportunities, as well as providing emergency aid in natural disasters, war, and other conflicts.
