Specsavers in Cribbs Causeway, Bradley Stoke and Filton have nominated CLIC Sargent as their charity of the year for 2018.
The teams from all three stores will be supporting the children’s cancer charity by taking part in a number of challenges as well as holding events in their stores throughout the year.
All three store directors will be taking part in fundraising activities to boost the fundraising total. Gaurav Patel will be joining a team and taking part in Tough Mudder and Vivek Lakhanpaul is doing a sky dive. Ed Stanleigh has secured a place in the London Marathon and has set up his Just Giving page with an aim to raise £2000.
‘It’s important for our teams to get behind a good cause and throw every effort into fundraising. By nominating a charity, we can maximise our efforts,’ said store director, Gaurav Patel. ‘While CLIC Sargent is a national charity, they also have a local presence in Bristol so there is a community link too.
Supporting youngster with cancer
‘The charity offers tremendous support to youngsters who have been diagnosed with cancer during what can be a frightening and challenging time, as well as offering support to their families. We hope to raise smiles from our customers as well as lots of money for the charity in 2018.’
CLIC Sargent provides practical, financial and emotional support for children and teenagers who have been diagnosed with cancer or leukaemia. The charity believes that children with cancer have the right to the best possible treatment, care and support throughout their cancer journey and beyond.
