Two members of the audiology team from Specsavers Thornbury stepped in to help an elderly customer get home safely.
The 89-year-old visited the store for a routine hearing test appointment but got caught in torrential rain on her way there. After carrying out the test, trainee hearing aid dispenser (HAD), Molly Brackpool diagnosed her with an ear infection and then phoned her daughter to let her know and ensure she got the right treatment.
It was still raining heavily as the customer was about to leave the store to walk home. Not wanting her to get soaked again, especially in light of her ear infection, trainee hearcare assistant (HCA), Marie Renton drove her home to make sure she got back safely.
Focusing on customer service
‘We’re dedicated to going above and beyond when it comes to customer service,’ said Molly. ‘Both our customers and the local community are extremely important to us, and we were only too happy to help in this instance to make sure an elderly customer didn’t have to walk home in heavy rain.’
