Team members at Specsavers in Bournemouth is putting out a plea for residents to donate their old, unwanted or broken frames.

Helping Vision Aid Overseas

The store, along with others across the nation, helps those in developing countries get access to quality eyecare through its work with Vision Aid Overseas (VAO), an international charity that takes unwanted, broken or out of date frames and recycles their components to raise needed funds.

For many years, there has been a collection box in the store but the requirement to send off old frames remains a constant  request, and we'd love to see our box get full again!

How those old frames help

In developing countries, millions of people can’t see properly because they need glasses and thousands are in danger of going blind, due to the lack of professionals and basic facilities.

Those old pair of glasses really can make a difference so please do check your home, car and office for any spare, unwanted pairs.
