February is known as the month of love thanks to St Valentine.
Keen to get customers to love their eyes and vision is the team at Specsavers in Bournemouth who are urging customers who have not had a sight test in a while to book one this February.
Our eyes are precious
The team of optometrists at Bournemouth are here to love your eyes, all year round. Yes, a sight test can pick up issues with your vision but it can also detect changes in your general health. Did you know for example that an eye examination can pick up early indicators of sight loss conditions such as glaucoma that is a preventable condition?
Or wider issues such as the onset of diabetes? High blood too, is one other condition that an optometrist can spot.
Book your eye test this month
Robert Barnes, store director said: 'We recommended everyone has a sight test every two years and this includes children from the age of three upwards, unless you have been told to have a test more often. You may already be wearing glasses but there might be a need to change your prescription and it's also reassuring to know that we can detect any wider medical issues too during the test.'
A test is quick yet many people do not make it a priority. Robert concludes: 'Just like we see the dentist every 6 months, a sight test should be on the radar. Should you need to wear glasses or want to consider switching to contact lenses, our friendly team of advisors are on hand to help you make the right choice to suit your lifestyle and your budget.'
