The team at Specsavers in Boston are celebrating after being awarded the top spot in the town’s Christmas Shop Front Competition for the second year in a row.
The competition, run annually by Boston Borough Council, encourages local businesses to enter into the Christmas spirit by decorating their shop fronts and windows with festive displays.
The store’s winning design features two scenes; one of Santa’s workshop complete with elves busy making toys at their workbench; the other a festive fireside scene with a large, handmade gold advent calendar, stockings hung up on the mantlepiece and a Santa sack filled with gifts.
Judges from the Council commented on the difficulty in deciding between the town’s decorated windows, and they were impressed with the standard and quality of all entrants.
A word from the store director
‘We’re delighted to have won the prize for the best dressed window again this year,’ commented store director, Jo Curtis.
‘It’s a great local initiative which generates a festive community spirit, and something we always look forward to getting involved in. The team did a fantastic job in creating a really magical display, and we’re very proud to have been given the top spot!’
The store has been awarded £75 as a prize for winning the competition, to be donated to a charity of their choice.
‘We will be donating the prize money to Guide Dogs for the Blind,’ said Jo. ‘They do fantastic work across the country supporting those that are visually impaired to lead a normal life.’
