Specsavers in Bootle have received donations of 3,000 unused glasses from its generous customers to help better the sight of people living in Africa.
Working with Vision Aid Overseas
In 1985, Vision Aid Overseas was founded and has been helping those living in poverty to see more clearly for over 30 years. Their mission is to give poorer people access to affordable eye care and glasses. After the glasses are donated they are all recycled and the money raised is used in order to provide optician services in underdeveloped countries.
Staff and customers at Specsavers in Bootle have shown their kindness by donating a record-number of old glasses to assist in funding the great cause alongside Vision Aid Overseas.
Each donation counts
Sara Taylor, store director at Specsavers in Bootle, said: ‘This campaign has been a big success all thanks to the generosity of our customers. Every donation will make such a huge difference.
