As the nation marked Dementia Awareness Week Specsavers in Bodmin announced their newly qualified team ready to help customers suffering from dementia.
A badge of recognition
The qualified team in Bodmin have completed Dementia Friends training, an initiative run by the Alzheimer’s Society. In doing so they are recognised as a Dementia Friends, with a badge to wear on their uniforms to indicate their increased level of dementia awareness to customers.
Proud to help
Jo McLean, store director of Specsavers in Bodmin says: ‘Being more aware of dementia is an incredibly positive development for our team and our offering to customers, enabling us to help people feel less confused or even isolated through incorrect prescriptions.’
Specsavers’ home- and care home-visiting teams – Specsavers Healthcall – are also completing the training.
