Bodmin Specsavers are passionate supporters of the local community, including charitable initiatives.
It was therefore clear that the optical team would again join the golfing event in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association at Lanhydrock Hotel and Golf course, organised by the Rotary Club of Bodmin.
Hole in one!
Local businesses donated funds to take part in the 4.5 mile course, followed by lunch and games on the 19th hole.
The Specsavers Bodmin team sponsored the 18th hole and donated a designer eye wear voucher for the post-match raffle in the club house, organised by members of the Cornwall branch of the MND Association.
Bodmin store directors, Jo and Carl, decided to support the cause when they learnt that one of their customers, Derek Williamson, had sadly lost three family members, including his son, first wife and sister-in-law to the incurable disease. Today Mr Williamson is President of the Cornwall branch of the MND Association.
Store director, Jo McLean, said: ‘We were delighted to be asked to support this incredible cause again this year.
‘If we can help in any way to fund research into this devastating disease then we are one step closer to finding a cure and preventing more people like Derek going through the losses he has suffered.’
