Specsavers is delighted to announce the opening of a new store in Blandford Forum.
To kick off their residency with impact, the team of 11 held its official launch day on Thursday 21 September. The new store brings the very latest equipment and innovation from the optical and audiology industry to the town.
Who popped by?
On-hand to declare the store officially open the store was Deputy Mayor, Councillor Roger Carter. The Deputy Mayor also received a tour of the facilities and heard first hand from ophthalmic director, Sinan Khan about why regular eye examinations are essential if preventable sight loss conditions are to be avoided in later years.
Also on hand to make the day a success was Specman - a superhero - and a life-sized ear.
Coinciding with National Eye Health Week
The store launch took part during an important eye health awareness week. Recent research from the Royal Institute of Blind People (RNIB) and Specsavers showed that almost six million people in the UK currently live with sight-threatening conditions.
Urging locals to get their sight test booked
Keen to stress why eye examinations are paramount and how Blandford Forum can benefit from advanced healthcare services in the area are store directors, Sinan Khan and Tim Bennett.
Tim said: ‘We were keen to hold a fun day to get across the importance of regular sight tests in an engaging way. We hope we put eye health at the top of some people's agenda and we look forward to welcoming new customers into our store.'
Deputy Mayor, Councillor Roger Carter said: 'It's always a pleasure to welcome new businesses to Blandford Forum, particularly in the town centre.
'It's in this spirit, and on behalf of Peter Clark, the Mayor and Blandford Forum Town Council, I have the greatest pleasure in welcoming Specsavers to Blandford and, as with all other local businesses, wish them every success for the future.'
