Children in Bishopbriggs will be more visible when they are out and about, thanks to their local Specsavers store.

Staff at Specsavers in the town handed out 200 high visibility vests during the Christmas lights switch on in Bishopbriggs.

Being visible

Neil Drain, store director at Specsavers Bishopbriggs, said: 'The Christmas lights switch on was a great opportunity for us to hand out our vests and remind locals of the importance of being visible on the streets, especially in the winter months.

'The vests ensured lots of the children attending the event were easy to spot.

'Over the past couple of years we have donated vests to a few local primary schools which come in handy for organised trips.'
