Specsavers in Birmingham is supporting the Birmingham Children’s Hospital Cancer Centre Appeal.
The team has already raised nearly £2,500 for the appeal – and is now set to continue its fundraising to help the Hospital reach its £4m target to build a new cancer centre.
The store will be donating £1 from every sight test carried out on Sundays, as well as offering specs MOT’s (cleaning and adjustments) to the appeal.
‘We’ve had a great response from our customers about supporting the appeal – and so we were keen to continue the fundraising,’ says Neil Jones store director.  ‘The team have various fundraising plans in the pipeline, plus of course we’re encouraging people to book their eye examinations for Sundays when they can.’
The current cancer unit is more than 30 years old and the service itself has totally outgrown capacity. £4 million will enable the hospital to improve the experience of patients, their families and the staff who care for them.
