Students from Toot Hill School in Bingham had the opportunity to find out more about a career in optics thanks to Specsavers in Bingham.

Chris Dann, senior optical and hearcare assistant, and Jill Gratton-Fisher, optical assistant, attended the school’s Year 11-13 Careers and Networking Fair on Thursday 25 January which gave both the students and parents the opportunity for find out more about options for post GCSEs and A-levels.

A word from the optical director

‘This was a great opportunity to discuss the benefits of a career in optics with so many students,’ said optical director, Amit Rana. ‘We were able to chat about the various optical career paths; whether that’s studying to become an optometrist or looking more at the retail side of the business.’

Fiona Farmer, head of careers, Toot Hill School, added; ‘We’re delighted that Specsavers was able to attend this event, and to give our students an insight into a career in optometry.
