Since opening the Specsavers store on Eaton Place in February, the team has been busy providing the best eyecare to locals. With experienced clinicians and retailers coming together to create the new store, customers can be sure they are in the best hands.

Familliar faces

The team includes some familiar faces from nearby Specsavers, including longstanding directors of the West Bridgford store, Stephen Rogers and Simon Dunn. The leadership team is completed by ophthalmic director, Amit Rana, who has worked at both Bromsgrove and Tamworth for Specsavers, bringing a wealth of experience to the new store.

‘We’re fully settled into the new store and life in Bingham, and we’ve got a fantastic team, which is making a huge difference,’ said Amit. ‘Most of our staff members live locally, so we’re making the most of the home-grown talent on offer.

Community feel

‘There’s a great community feel here and we have already jumped into supporting this through sponsoring the BFest event last month. Working alongside local people is important to us; we want to provide a much-needed service while also helping those doing good deeds around the town.’

Alongside a highly qualified optical team, the store has two eye testing rooms featuring the latest ophthalmic equipment. This includes the latest Fundus camera, which is available to customers as a standard part of all eye tests.

Fundus photography is a non-invasive technique which takes a picture of the retina and allows optometrists to view the eye in detail, making it easier to spot any abnormalities. The team is qualified to identify and treat minor eye conditions that can be picked up during testing, including dry eye, watery eye and blepharitis.
