Specsavers Bingham supported this year’s Bingham Summer Fair held on Saturday 9 June in the Market Place.
Alongside being main sponsors for the event, which is organised by Bingham Town Council, members of the team also attended on the day, using the opportunity to raise awareness and funds for their nominated local cause, Ash Lea School.
Staff handed out baked cakes and biscuits in return for donations, raising more than £100 for the school, as well as helping the Mayor to open the fair and introduce some of the acts on the day.
‘The fair was great – fabulous atmosphere, perfect weather and a real community spirit,’ commented Sophie Brittle, store manager. ‘We managed to speak to a lot of people and explain to them why we're raising money for Ash Lea and so are delighted to add the £113 that we collected on the day to our ongoing fundraising efforts for the school.’
The team at the store will be fundraising for Ash Lea School, a community special school based at Cotgrave, until the end of the year. The school was selected following the store’s call to action asking the local community to help them decide which cause they should support for 2018.
