Staff at Specsavers in Billericay have collected 1,000 pairs unwanted glasses for charity in 2017.
The team collects old pairs of frames from customers as part of an annual campaign in aid of Specsavers charity partner, Vision Aid Overseas.
The charity uses the donations to help fund eyecare services for those less fortunate overseas.
avid Farman, director and dispensing optician at Specsavers in Billericay, said: ‘Our Vision Aid Overseas appeal seeks to help the charity provide vital eyecare to people in Africa. We’re so thankful to our customers who have donated to the cause and would urge the community to rummage around for unwanted specs that they could bring in to store.
‘Having already reached the 1,000 mark, we hope to collect and donate another 1,000 pairs before the end of the year to bring our total to more than 2,000.’
