Specsavers in Biggleswade is hosting a Fathers’ Day football match as part of their commitment to raise money for Guide Dogs for the Blind.
The five-a-side charity event will take place on Fathers’ Day (Sunday 17 June) at Biggleswade Town Football Club on Langdon Road SG18 9JT, where dads are invited to bring their sons and daughters for a kick about.
Practice manager at Specsavers in Biggleswade, Tracy Rook said: ‘I’ve worked in optics for nearly 35 years and I’ve seen the fantastic work Guide Dogs for the Blind does. It’s my 50th birthday this year and what better way to celebrate than raise money for just a worthwhile cause.
Committed to raising £3,100
‘This is just one of the events we’ve planned in 2018 to hit our target of raising £3,100 for the charity and I’m looking forward to everyone coming down and enjoying the day with us.’
Matches will include a father and child match, an adults-only game and one for just the kids. Entry for participants is £5 for adults and £2.50 for children. Spectators can join the fun for just £2 for adults and £1 for children. Refreshments will also be available on the day.
