An optometrist from Specsavers Bicester has taken on more than 20 obstacles over a gruelling ten-mile course to raise money for a local community special school.
Suresh Mahandu took part in Tough Mudder at Belvoir Castle in Grantham, Lincolnshire in support of Bardwell School. No stranger to the challenge, this was the fourth time Suresh has battled mud and freezing water for what is billed as the toughest obstacle course in the world.
A good challenge
‘In some ways, having done Tough Mudder before made it a little bit worse as I knew what was coming!’ says Suresh. ‘It’s always a tough course and while it’s physically exhausting, it’s a mental challenge as well. I really enjoyed it and raised more than £350 for Bardwell School.’
Bardwell School is a community special school for children and young adults aged between 2 and 19. Located in Bicester, North Oxfordshire it serves Bicester, Kidlington and the surrounding villages.
