‘Tis the season of goodwill and nowhere is this more evident than Specsavers Bicester. Instead of paying for your sight test between now and the end of the year, the store is asking customers to donate gifts. These will then be raffled off in the New Year to raise money for the store’s nominated charity, Camren’s Steps.
‘We wanted to do something to kick-start the fundraising and as it’s Christmas thought presents would be a good idea,’ said store director Sarah Marshall. ‘If your sight test is due, why not book one now and help us raise money towards funding Camren’s vital operation in the USA.’
Five-year-old Camren Haines has Spastic Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy which means all four of his limbs are very stiff and tight and he suffers from regular muscle spasms. His parents Sophie and Terry are trying to raise £65,000 which will help fund an operation to help him lead a more independent life.
