A Beverley optician has completed a triathlon, which is known to be one of the most difficult one-day sporting events in the world totaling 140.6 miles.
On Sunday 19th July, Jeremy Beesley, Ophthalmic Optician at Specsavers in Beverley, completed the Iron Man UK triathlon in Bolton in aid of Yorkshire Air Ambulance, raising a total of £300 from in-store collections in the run-up to the event.

The triathlon involved a 2.4 mile swim through Pennington Flash, followed by a 112 mile bicycle ride and then a marathon run of 26.2 miles. Having soldiered on injured Jeremy finished Iron Man UK in 15 hours and 43 minutes.
Finishing 1,531 out of 2,150, Jeremy commented: 'The Iron Man triathlon is one of the most difficult sporting events in the world and I’m very proud to have completed it. It’s a great way to raise valuable funds for a charity close to heart.
'I’m thrilled that the store has been so supportive and that we’ve raised vital funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance service.'
This is Jeremy’s second triathlon having previously completed the half Iron Man. The optician has also completed marathons in London, Barcelona, Edinburgh and more.
