A trio of Berwick eye care specialists helped raise a four-figure sum for local hospice care by zip-lining from the Tyne Bridge.
Vicky Davidson, Lauren Hogg and Kirsty Patterson of Specsavers in Berwick helped raise £4,789 for the store’s charity partner, HospiceCare North Northumberland, through their daring charitable endeavour earlier this month.
HospiceCare is the main provider of free palliative care in the county and Specsavers has been hosting a series of fundraising events throughout the year to support its efforts.
Praise from the store director
Customers can also donate in return for a free specs repair in store. Craig Bell, store director at Specsavers in Berwick, said: ‘Our team members quite literally went above and beyond to raise money for HospiceCare – our chosen charity partner for the year – and we couldn’t be prouder.
‘HospiceCare must raise more than £660,000 every year to keep up its important work, and we want to provide any support we can to help it in its mission.’
