The Berwick store is welcoming in the new year with a new look and enhanced offering, following a £100,000 refit and expansion.


Specsavers in Marygate recently became a dedicated audiology hub, providing enhanced audiology services to customers including hearing tests and hearing aid fittings.


The move follows a major refit late last year, which saw the creation of a dedicated audiology space and allowed for more eye health services to be offered to customers than ever before.


At the Berwick store, a new dispensing section has been added along with a larger waiting area for customers, allowing for extra capacity and while maintaining social distancing.


The completion of the £100,000 refit and investment in modernised facilities further enhances the store’s capability, allowing for more contact lense clinics and dedicated diabetic screenings.


Vicky Davidson, store partner at Specsavers in Berwick, says: ‘We are starting off the new year with a brand new look and enhanced optical and audiology services for our customers.


‘There is now a lot more space in store, allowing for effective social distancing. The safety of our customers is paramount and I’m delighted we are able to offer an enhanced service with greater space and availability.


‘With increased appointments, shorter waiting times, improved technology and new dedicated audiology rooms, we’re really proud of the changes that we’ve made to the store.’


Specsavers stores across the UK are open for all eye and hearing needs during lockdown, in line with Government guidance.


The Berwick store has put in place various safety measures, including restrictions on the number of customers allowed in store at any one-time, social distancing, and bank card instead of cash payments, where possible.


Specsavers’ colleagues use personal protective equipment (PPE) throughout the stores and frames are thoroughly sanitised before and after each use. Customers are also asked to request an appointment in advance by phone or online through the Specsavers website to help manage social distancing and minimise time spent in store.


Specsavers is also continuing to offer remote services for people who are self-isolating, vulnerable or unable to leave their home.
