A Berwick opticians is calling on the town’s specs wearers to support its glasses recycling scheme this spring.
Specsavers in Marygate is renewing its call for donations of old and unwanted glasses ahead of spring cleaning season as it prepares to send off 1,000 pairs, collected in store in recent months, to international sight charity Vision Aid Overseas (VAO).
A word from the store director
Nick Dawson, director at in Berwick, said: ‘Our plea is simple. This year, when you’re cleaning out your cupboards and drawers, pop your old and unwanted specs to one side and bring them into store.
‘We have 1,000 pairs ready to send to the charity, donated by kind customers and staff, and we want to kick-start our collection once more.'
