Specsavers in Berwick is donating 10 per cent of all spectacle sales completed on Sunday 08 June to Blind Veterans UK.
The store, located on Marygate, will open its doors for one Sunday only, to offer eye examinations and raise money for the charity.
Raising funds for a worthy cause
Blind Veterans UK launched its No One Alone campaign in October 2012 and aims to reach out to more than 68,000 ex-service personnel who would benefit from the charity.
Craig Bell, director of Specsavers in Berwick says: ‘We don’t usually open on a Sunday but we thought this would be great way to give back while offering an additional day of examinations to our customers.
‘Blind Veterans UK is a fantastic charity and provides vital support to visually impaired ex-service men and women, regardless of the cause of their sight loss.
‘I would like to encourage our customers to take advantage of our special Sunday service and help us to raise as much money as possible for Blind Veterans UK.’
