Eyecare experts in Berwick marched along the perimeter of the town walls in a show of solidarity with a local support group.

Lauren Hogg, Holly Freebairn, Julie Dudgeon and Vicky Davidson of Specsavers in the town’s Marygate raised £100 for The Berwick and District Cancer Support Group by taking part in the group’s dedicated sponsored walk this January.

A word from the store director

Craig Bell, director of Specsavers in Berwick said: ‘Our team is committed to supporting the local community, and the cancer support group has touched the lives of many of our customers and loved ones alike.

‘Lauren really took the lead in mobilising the team to both walk for and donate to this special cause.

‘The weather wasn’t particularly forgiving on the day but it certainly didn’t dampen the spirits of our walkers, and we’re very proud of them.’

The Berwick and District Cancer Support Group was founded in 1992 and provides free transport to major hospitals for cancer sufferers.
