The team at Specsavers in Belper helped to feed the homeless this Christmas by collecting donations for the Doorways charity.
As well as donating large quantities of food in the run-up to Christmas, customers also gave hats, scarves and money to the appeal. The Specsavers team ensured all donations were delivered to the charity just before the Christmas break, helping those who had fallen on hard times to eat and stay warm this winter.
Andy McBride, store director, said: ‘Christmas is a time for giving, and it’s important to remember those who are less fortunate. Doorways does a wonderful job to help those who find themselves on the streets, and we’re really proud to have helped out with everyday items that can make a real difference to them.
‘Staff are always happy to help out local charities and good causes, and we’d just like to thank our customers who were very generous in their donations.’
