This week store director Mathew Robinsion and colleague Megan McGrae from Specsavers in Belle Vale attended a Careers Fair at Gateacre School to promoting careers in optics.

Talking to the children

Mathew and Megan had a stand at the event and gave out promotional information about Specsavers and answered questions from pupils throughout the day.

They were both on hand to give advice to pupils from the school on optometry careers and also optical apprenticeships available at Specsavers.

The day was a great success, and the stand was busy all day. Mathew and Megan now feel positive they've provided good insight to pupils about the benefits of working in Optometry, and the route options into this career via Specsavers.

Success with Specsavers

Mathew said: 'Visiting schools and giving careers advice is one of the best parts of our job. I've come up through the ranks at Specsavers and I am now a store director.

'It's a really supportive company in terms of development and you learn so much every day.

'The pupils from Gateacre School were really enthusiastic - hopefully one of them will be our next apprentice at the Belle Vale store. Watch this space!'
