Specsavers Park Centre customers, staff, centre staff and shoppers have raised over £2500 since 2015 for Guide Dogs NI. The funds have been raised by people placing loose change into the extra-large guide dog money box that sits at the entrance to the Specsavers store.
Store welcomes guide dog owners Diane and Andrea
To mark this year’s Guide Dogs Week the Specsavers team invited Belfast girls Diane Marks and Andrea Hope, along with their gorgeous guide dogs Morris and Debbie, to the store to celebrate monies raised and to thank everyone in West Belfast who has donated over the past three years.
Devoted dogs who help people with sight loss
The annual Guide Dogs Week recognises and raises awareness of all the devoted, hardworking canines who help people with sight loss. Specsavers has had a long relationship with the charity, which provides a lifeline to many people by providing them with a highly-trained guide dog.
Wonderful service from Guide Dogs NI
Jayne Martin, store director of Park Centre Specsavers said, ‘Guide Dogs NI is a fantastic organisation which helps many people locally have total independence and get out and about in their local community. Guide dogs provide a wonderful service as well as being devoted companions. Raising funds for Guide Dogs has always been very popular here at Park Centre and we’d like to thank everyone for giving so generously. We’re pleased to welcome Diane and Andrea and of course, their lovely dogs and we pledge to continue to raise funds through our ‘doorway’ guide dog box.’
