Specsavers Park Centre team were sponsors and guests at this year’s Best of the West Awards organised by local media company, Belfast Media Group.
The Park Centre store supported five categories in total including Best Hair Salon, Best Boxing Club, Best Dinner Lady, Best Business Newcomer and Best Chemist with all the awards presented to winners at a packed Best Fest Party night on 14 April.
Showcasing popular services, products and people
The awards programme showcases popular services, people and products across 35 categories with local people voting for the winners in each category.
The local opticians and audiologists have been serving people in the community for over six years and Specsavers optometry director Matthew McKenny said the store was very pleased to work alongside the Andersonstown News on such an enterprising and positive awards project.
‘Our store has been involved with both the Best of the West and the Inspirational Youth Awards and believe they have made a real impact on the local community. It was a fabulous awards evening and I’d like to congratulate all the winners on their much-deserved success.
'It’s fantastic to see local entrepreneurs and people rewarded for their hard work, energy and contribution to the local West Belfast economy.’
Looking after local people’s eyes and ears
‘At Specsavers we take eye health and hearing very seriously and are keen to play our part in making West Belfast a healthier and even more vibrant community. We would encourage local people of all ages to get a regular eye test – we recommend every two years.
'Sight tests are essential health checks and as well as detecting vision problems they can also show signs of other general health problems such as diabetes, high blood pressure or high cholesterol.
‘Specsavers also offers a full audiology service and range of clinics. If you think you or any member of your family has a hearing problem, we can offer a free initial hearing test and if necessary can set up an appointment with one of our fully qualified audiologists.’
