The team at Specsavers Beeston will host a Halloween-themed Big Fit fundraising day on Saturday 31 October to raise money for When You Wish Upon a Star.
Staff will be handing out trick or treat goody bags to youngsters, as well as holding a spooky cake sale and pumpkin colouring-in competition.
Customers can also make use of a special clinic offering free contact lens trials, while staff will be on hand to offer help and advice for those unsure about going spec-less.
Krishna Parmar, store director, said: ‘We’re all really excited about our Big Fit day and raising money for When You Wish Upon a Star. The charity was founded in Nottingham and now operates nationwide, which is testament to the incredible work they do.
‘I’d encourage anyone to pop down to help this cause, but also if you’re looking for more information about contact lenses. Contact lenses have changed a lot over the years and are now extremely comfortable – why not visit us on Saturday for a free trial?’
When You Wish Upon a Star was founded in Nottingham by Barbara White, following inspiration from a seriously ill four-year-old with a dream to meet Mickey Mouse. The charity has a simple mission, to grant the wishes of children living with a life threatening illness. When You Wish Upon a Star has now proudly granted over 16,000 wishes across the UK since 1990.
