The Beeston store held a Halloween-themed Big Fit day on Saturday 31 October and raised £32 for When You Wish Upon a Star by holding a delicious cake sale.
The team handed out trick or treat goody bags to youngsters, served up slices of ghoulishly decorated cake and ran a pumpkin colouring-in competition, all in the name of charity.
The fundraising efforts were part of a big drive to help customers access advice and information on the benefits of contacts lenses. A special clinic was held offering free contact lens trials and walk-in appointments.
Krishna Parmar, store director, said: ‘Our Big Fit day was certainly a success and it was great to open up the world of contact lenses to more customers. As part of the event we ran a fantastic cake sale to raise money for When You Wish Upon a Star; a charity which was founded in Nottingham and helps terminally-ill children have their dreams come true.’
When You Wish Upon a Star was founded in Nottingham by Barbara White, following inspiration from a seriously ill four-year-old with a dream to meet Mickey Mouse. The charity has a simple mission, to grant the wishes of children living with a life threatening illness. When You Wish Upon a Star has now proudly granted over 16,000 wishes across the UK since 1990.
